Engagement: Rob + Michelle

I am so very behind when it comes to updating this website. I did this engagement shoot months ago so it's about time I post something.

I've known Rob for a few years now and I've only ever seen him wear pants twice. He hates pants with a passion so even on the coldest days you'll see him in shorts. The day before this shoot we got a heavy snow fall and I was sure he would be wearing pants for the photos. I should have known better. :)

Looking forward to shooting their wedding this summer.

So I went to China - part 2

Sichuan province has the largest Panda population in all of China. Chengdu is home to a huge Panda research and breeding facility. As soon as I had some time off I made sure to pay it a visit.

I wasn't disappointed  It was much larger than I was expecting. they have outdoor enclosures for Red Pandas, adolescent Pandas and the full grown adults. They also had a few babies behind glass for everyone to see. They honestly looked like little stuffed animals.

The entire facility was green and lush, it was a nice change of pace from the congestion and pollution in the city.

So I went to China - part 1

China is one of those places that the Western world has a lot of preconceived ideas of. Myself included.

I had the chance to spend about two week in Chengdu which is located in Sichuan province. It's one of the last major cities before reaching Tibet just a few more hours to the west. It's home to 14 million people officially making it the largest city I have ever been to.

The only down side, the pollution  Beijing has been in the news a lot lately with the incredibly high amount of air pollution  It was pretty bad in Chengdu as well. My throat was sore after only a few days and it persisted until I came home.

I'd be lying if I said one of the main reasons I was excited to go was new places to take pictures! These photos are from Jinli Street in Chengdu. It's full of shops and restaurants all built in traditional style.

Just me and the kids

The other day my wife was out of the day so it was just me and the kids. It was cold and raining outside so I had to find something to keep them entertained. I pulled out my photo gear, grabbed the tickle trunk from the basement and did a dress up shoot. I let the kids choose what to wear and I did the rest. As you can see they really got into their characters.
